A Candle Lit Procession from St Mary’s Church
Christmas Carol Service at Caldicot Castle
Caldicot Castle provided the captivating setting for a traditional candle-lit Christmas carol service organised by the Churches of Caldicot, Portskewett & Rogiet.
All over the country, churches are gathering to celebrate this special time of year; Caldicot Pastor Jim Davies from the Pentecostal church has helped to captivate the imagination of churchgoers in this area by joining together with Anglicans, Methodists, Roman Catholics and Baptists towards a common aim.
These 5 churches have been meeting together for the past 3 years and it is the first time in their history that it will be leading a candlelit procession, starting at 4.45pm from St. Mary’s, the Parish church on church Road through the Country park, over the drawbridge and into Caldicot Castle. Complimentary mince pies and mulled wine will be served from the guardroom on arrival at the castle.
The evening service will rejoice the birth of the Jesus Christ, the Saviour and feature music from the award-winning Severn Tunnel Band, carol singing, and readings by candlelight. There will also be 8 hand bell ringers.
The program will conclude with a short address given by the Bishop of Monmouth.
The performance is free, however donations are invited and will be shared between the Mayors Charity Appeal and The Severn Tunnel Band.

LIFE Exhibition Caldicot
24th-1st February.
We were absolutely delighted by the response that we had during the Life Exhibition.
868. pupils attended, they were so enthusiastic.
The P.D.As (hand held computers) and videos, made the teachings, miracles, and prophesies of Jesus come alive.
The video films were informative, and thought provoking. LIFE! "What is it" was it's commencement. The final being LIFE! "What do you think?
The responses from the children were varied, e.g. Life is fun. About friends etc. One childs answer, "I wasn't sure if all this that they said about Jesus was true, but now I think it is."
Hard work yes. Worth it definately. What a joy to be a part of this outreach for the Kingdom.
60 plus volunteers. All 5 churches in the area working together. We praise the Lord for the opportunity that He has given to plant seeds. "Cast your bread upon the waters, you will find it after many days.
Teachers comments were favourable. (Well organised.)
All schools, supported the venture with open arms.
61 teachers passed through the exhibition.
182, visitors during school breaks.
1,105, in all attended. This indeed was a God moment.
